I recently acquired a Taurus 1911 that has no markings on the slide other than "1911, .45 ACP" and on the other side only the Taurus logo. Every one I see online has "Taurus, PT-1911 etc". Maybe it doesn't mean anything but I can't find another like it.
Does anyone know enough about these to know why there are no markings?
    Thanks

Congrats on the new gun! I noticed the later made guns lack the markings. Which is a good thing.

It was a Factory change during 2015 and a good one I think. The older roll marks were a bit gaudy and the "PT" was a turn off for a lot of folks. The PT 1911 is the only gun I ever sold, missed it and bought again. A long list of features on a hand fit gun. Most shoot 1.7 inch five shot groups at 25 yards. Best value in a reliable 1911 IMHO.

1911 Sales flow like a rollercoaster. When there's a glut of 1911s on the market being discounted you can find the PT 1911 selling at $425+-! There is a two part vid of a competition shooter (Nelson) in the Philippines firing 900 rounds in 10 minutes.
