Is this a LEO trade-in or commercial 870?
So for us mere mortals is this good or bad? Like does it mean a trade in is shot a bunch so less desirable or that it is cool police stuff so it is more desirable?

Also where does one buy used cop guns?

I'm not a cop, but I'm under the impression these guns were carried a lot more than they were shot. Remington Police 870s are built with more reinforced components than standard commercial guns, like machined components vs cast, and more steel parts vs aluminum or plastic.

Sweet setup OP, good luck with the sale!

I served Maryland and Florida as a State Trooper for 30+ years. Shotguns were either carried in the interior of the car in a locked rack or in the trunk in a soft padded case. I was a firearms instructor for both Agencies and I can confidently say that I didn’t witness any weapons being abused. I have two police trade ins and both are in excellent condition. I would bet my life on either trade in without hesitation.

LE guns are often the best value out there because very few cops are shooters and might shoot a box a year at qualifications if that. That, along with the fact most agencies have absolutely no active firearms program where officers can shoot, means the firearms are carried ALOT and actually shot VERY LITTLE.

An exception being firearms (pistols, rifles, SG's) used by a SWAT/TAC teams as most of those folks do shoot a lot.

There are plenty of places that specialize in selling surplus LE trade ins.

Basically, the LE guns tend to show more wear but that's due to careless handling and not actually shooting.
