Never seen a real one in person, much less disassembled a real one, but I have owned a flea market copy for like $30. I'm just curious. Is the synthetic handle material hollow with a super skinny rat tail tang on the real one like it is on the $30 ones? That rat tail tang did not inspire confidence while chopping

Handle, guard and cap is fixed. Neoprene grip. Solid piece.
