I have two S&W revolvers. One is a 38 S&W CTG, it is a 6 shot, double action revolver. I think it is a Victory. The serial # is V 599090. It has bone and brown grips. Not sure if that is factory. There is one on Gunsamerica that looks the same. Did they come with these handles or should they be the normal wood. Does anyone know how old it is? The other revolver is a snubed nose Mod 30-1. It is a 32 long caliber. Serial # is 755446. Same as the other, can someone tell me how old it is. Was also wondering the value of them also. Not sure, but I think they are both old. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The Victory model has been refinished & grips are aftermarket . The 30 - 1 is a late '59 or '60 vintage .

How can you tell it has been refinished, I know the grips are after market?

The original finish would not be that bright and you can see the buff marks in the pict. for just two things. just my two cents jj

At that serial number they were parkerized and had plain wood grips.

Here's a picture of the Victory model I carried during my last tour with the Marines (as a Navy Corpsman). Note the dull parkerized finish and the plain wood grips.
