I have a norinco with aim sport sight for sale. I replaced the firing pin with a Murphy spring loaded pin. Comes with three 20 round tapco mags, original mag, extended mag release and 500 rounds of ammo

I can drop it without the bolt being open but a can’t insert a new one without it being open

Without modification the bolt has rails that ride under the mag feed lips. This serves to lock in the mags too when the bolt is closed. I wonder if you have an unmodified bolt and you are able to remove the mag from a closed bolt because the mag feed lips are polymer. Hopefully those polymer feed lips aren't being flexed. Any stress cracks? I've seen the Promag SKS mags (as well as Magpul AR mags) have broken and cracked polymer feed lips. It happens. A sideways picture of the bolt will easily show whether or not the bolt was upgraded
