    It used to be you had to have an agency case# to run an item FCIC/NCIC and or have hands on the item. Its been a while since I retired so not sure now?

    There is a sticky in the for sale section of this forum for checking serial numbers through FDLE, don't know how accurate or up to date it is. I have used it a few times just to be sure a gun was not stolen.

    Any time I buy a gun from the Pensacola area I run the serial number.
