I stopped by the CMP store today... New item in stock - SAW magazines with 200 rd belts of 5.56 steel penetrator ball with tracer every 5th rd for $70.

Some will want these as a novelty - others will de-link the ammo to shoot. That works out to $350 per 1000 rds.

The mag comes in a cloth pouch & 4 mags in a steel ammo can.

It's the Civilian Marksmanship Store in Anniston, AL. Where you can currently purchase M1 Garand rifles, accessories, ammo, and they also have a limited number of brand new never used Kimber Model 82 Government Target Rifles...

Nope. Their Government charter doesn't allow for the sale of handguns or M14s. The M1s and target rifles they sell come straight from US Army inventory. Most of the M1s are those that we gave to other countries as foreign aid years ago. As they return them to the US Army, the army turns them over to the CMP for sale to the public.
