rifle id?

I just picked up a rifle from a buddy and have no clue what it is, I know its a .270. On top of barell it says sile ossian in. On the bottom side on magazine, I guess, it says 2273 and 106 , and on left side of bolt action it says 2Q-821, it is a bolt action rifle. If anyone has any clue please help

Do you have any pictures? Sile Distributers were located in Ossian, Indiana and went out of business around 1996/1997. They imported many different types of firearms.

Like said above, it's an importer's name. It tells nothing whatsoever about the rifle. You are going to have to come up with more info or good close-up pics to get help.

Was told by pics the rifle is prob a sporterized Mauser 98 .270

Bought this gun a while back.. I finally got to take it to the range today. It was dead on at 100yds and was hitting a steel plate at 350yds. It shoots way better than I expected for $200 with all the extras I got with it.
