Sent my upper off to D Wilson and just got it back, they did a fabulous job. The pin and weld plus shipping both ways was right at $90, which I definitely wouldn't call cheap, but they did a great job. The device is perfectly timed and the pin/weld is very clean and neat.

Nothing to do with the right size washer. Pin and weld is done mostly to meet 16" requirements from the government
I didnt know that? I would never pin or weld my LWRC break, how else can i suppress it when i need to? I like to suppress my LR rifles to so i dont have to wear ear protection. I Just change the crush washer.

I don't know how the crush washer is relevant.

If the mount is pinned and welded you can still run your suppressor as you would. An example would be a 14.5 barrel meeting 16" requirements to run a stock without NFA paperwork. Otherwise you would need to run a brace in place of the stock to be legal in the government's fairy tail land.

I did this last time I was home. Not home now, but if you wait till January I can hook you up for a bottle of fireball...
I guess that would be pin and weld the barrel shut.
