Just picked up my new mossberg cruiser pistol grip 12 gauge. Need some home defense style ammo now as its going to be my bedside gun now. I was thinking that some 00 buck would be a good load. Lucky gunner has Remington express 00 buck 250 rounds for 240 bucks. They also have rio royal same load for about 80 dollars less per 250. These have the disc over the front it seems instead of a crimp. Which should I get?

I just picked up a bunch of Winchester "military grade" (9 pellets of 00 buck at 1325 fps) for $4.99 per box at an Academy store. No idea if it is in stock in Pensacola - but it was not subject to any limits per customer.

I second the Federal FliteControl 00 , there's also a #1 buck load but really had to get right now .

Pick up some slugs too! Just in case you want to extend your range if you need to outside the home.

00 buck stays in my HD shotty. I have seen the Rio rounds and have not shot them before. All my shotty ammo is Rem and Win. But I have been tempted by the Rio price. Might have to pick some up and see how it shoots.

i dont use buck in my 12ga because i have a kid in the house but i do use #3 birdshot because it will still mess you up aor kill you at close range and you dont have to worry about over penetration... this is just my 2 cents
