that one looks like its from the 80s. definitely an early one. it might be worth something to people that collect them.
there are websites that will allow you to fine tune its manufacturing date by the codes.

This rascal does opens these old military dinners.. It is quite educational and entertaining.

I have some 14+ year old ones. Ate one, it's a bit foil tasting..... probably 0 nutrition value by now. Just stacked in the gun room for "effect" lol.

I'm a big fan of the lifeboat brick. Like oatmeal. Add water, heat up and live.

We used to eat MRE's after blizzards knocked out power up North - Parents made it kinda fun, but odd to think back on now.

I try to keep 100 pounds of rice also as it is easy to prepare and stores relatively well.
