Check out this video of the Full Moon rising, actual time. The big prominent crater and associated ray system is named "Tycho", the easiest recognizable Lunar feature.
Also notice the atmospheric disturbance along the limb, or edge, of the Moon. This is what makes stars twinkle and is a curse to astronomers. Sometimes it's so bad it's like looking at reflection in a swimming pool. This is called "bad seeing".
