Got one of the first Magpul Zhukov-s stocks available in FDE. Installed on my WASR this evening. Pretty simple install once you understand it. Hardest part was removing the original laminated stock, hah!

    Anyway, on with the pictures

I like it. The front rail on my 74 looks like yours but I think mine is shorter. Rear stock is a standard AR 6 position. Everything on mine is black because I've been trying to decide how to refinish it. I'll either Cera cote it in a contrasting scheme or hydro dip it.

my 74 is my "traditional" look AK. It wears refinished surplus wood that I finished to match a surplus bayo I picked up. Not sure if its actual bakelite or not, but its got the color.

I've seen yours before. It makes me mad that I took my wood off. I'm a woodworking type, I could have refinished it to 2/3 as good as yours, not as good but good enough. I should have kept it like it was. The bayonet is an amazing add on.

Obviously I haven't been on the AK forum in a while. But what type of forend/scope setup do you have? I'm a little ways away from putting $$ into my WASR, but this is the direction I'm wanting to go. I'm definitely going with the Magpul stock. Just wasn't sure about which way to go on the forend. I want something that will take a red-dot pretty easily.

that is the Midwest Industries rail unit, replacing the factory wooden handguards. They offer the top piece in other designs as well for other mounting provisions. Check them out.
Another choice is the ultimak setup, which is different but allows mounting of a red dot

Maybe on a second one. I want a red dot on this one. This is my only "evil" rifle so I want it to be more of a practical setup.

Including a vfg on the forend and a mag in the magwell. Looks so sinister
