Hey guys new here & recently bought my first rifle in the Ar platform. It is a M4 colt carbine.

I shot 200 rounds threw it the other day. I like the rife but want to see if there is a trigger replacement that you guys would suggest. It seems to have alot of take up which I do not like. I do not mind a high LB pull but do not like having alot of take up. If not I guess I will have to find gunsmith to work on if for me.

Any suggestion for cleaning the in side of the gas tube & how often does this need to be done.

Any good guns smiths in mobile you guys know of? Any other forums for Alabama guys you can point me too?

I know alot of question but all help will be appreciated.

    Thanks Joe

    Distance accuracy shooting- SSA-E
    Rapid/ defense shooting-SD 3gun.

Or you could do the old allen bolt in the pistol grip for the take up.

I just replaced my trigger with a timney 4# trigger, pricey but it feels very very nice to me.

As for your other questions, a quick search revealed that not many people choose to clean their gas tubes, no matter the round count, the consensus seems to be that the pressure created is high enough to prevent deposits from forming and clogging the tube. I don't have ton's of AR rifles, but the ones I have with gas tubes have never been cleaned. I am a little neurotic about cleaning my piston based guns though, which is probably unnecessary too.

As for smiths in mobile, but I am sure someone here has a suggestion for you.

    Thanks guys

I know lots of questions but I appreciate your responses. Not cleaning the gas tube definitely makes the job easier.

I use pipe cleaners with some NON-amonia type of solvent. You'll find all the AR cleaning stuff that you ever will ned at the P'cola gunshow weekend after this one. --- SAWMAN
