Not being a smart ass but a picture of a man who has been shot with a pistol in his hand dosen't say much about what happened and hasn't much to do with my post and my way of thinking. Looks like he might have been better off with a shot gun.

Does say a lot about trigger finger discipline.

Surprising no one has mentioned anything about NATO requirements yet. It is my understanding the availability of ammo and compatibility/standardization with other NATO countries is a factor.
Let's suppose the decision is made to move away from 9mm. Is there a caliber stockpiled in war reserve material that can feed the logistical chain?
Being in an operational test and evaluation center, I understand that deciding on it today means it will still be a few years before we see the limited production and field test with a few select units. Still, there is a matter of training and tooling with those units. I presume the qualification course requires a trainee to fire somewhere around 100 rounds.

Curious, how many Marines are carrying the [new] 45?

make it a USA made weapon.

EFF that. If I'm going somewhere that the targets will be shooting back, I don't give a rat's ass about where it's made. I want THE BEST. I'd say that on behalf of any service member or parent of a kid going overseas to fight. Honestly , right now , FN and HK are the ones to beat in handguns.
