    This one is,lol. 100rds of fun!View attachment 503067
I had a calico .22 once, the old mag had been overtorqued and was only (mostly) reliable up to around 30 rounds. I finally got a new mag from the mfg (on backorder the better part of a year) and it didn't work any better. Fun fact, it appears that the "Calico" bolt is merely a Ruger 10/22 bolt installed upside down.

Mag tension while shooting is the key. As the mag empties just put 1 or 2 turns on it. Do not ever over tighten. Mags are about $80. Need more but I'm cheap! I also had the 9mm. Suprisingly reliable, after all the hate they get online. 9mm is a roller lock system, with downward eject. Great for lefty. YMMV.

Sounds like the consensus is a Ruger Charger with one of these (forearm modification probably necessary):

    Plus one of these:

Plus one of these (when back in-stock):

I have a Blackdog Machine drum mag. Far better quality.

    Pro: train in style?
Con: uncommon mags and somebody gave it a bad review

Never had a ruger 10-22. Strange, prob had 2 of everything else, lol.
Looking at them, now, td and regular charger. Also looking to see if there's a 4.5 inch barrel out there.
Are the 10-22's mag picky? 10,15,25?

10s are always best. Butler Creek mags have been known to be reliable, but I stick with factory Ruger mags. 15 and 25 round are good. You may run into an issue every now and then but mostly ammo related.

The Ruger BX magazine is fantastic. I have a pile of 'em.

Prior to Ruger releasing the BX series of magazines, the Butler Creek mags were considered the best. The issue with the Butler Creek mags is that as they age, the plastic becomes brittle.

I have a few Butler Creek mags from prior to the enactment (and expiration) of the Clinton AWB.

I keep them around because they still work. But the Ruger BX series mags have been my go-to mags now for the 10/22.

The 10/22 has been on my list for a long time.

Besides the other suggestions listed here, I wanted to mention CMMG Banshee. If you want compact, run it without the buffer tube. It doesn't need one!
Downside is, I don't think your m&p22 mags will work.

I think there is an adapter.

Hmmmm.... cut the barrel and thread? Barrel comes threaded. Shorting it might impact reliability? 5 3/8 barrel.

Those GSG 110’s seem to have much better track records, as long as there isn’t a figment issue with the stock/magwell in the first place. Haven’t had access to a free range to see if it can be “oversped”, though.
The R.O. gave my buddy permission to rapidfire my gsg drum. Once my buddy found the rhythm, he shut us down. Lol.

Aw crap. Dang it. 49$ 10 rd. 249$ drum. Leave it to me to find a unicorn gun. Soon as I buy it they will discontinue it.
Man, you're really making it hard on yourself. The Ruger Charger is cheap, reliable, has a ton of after-market options for barrels, stocks, etc... and has a ton of cheap and reliable magazines and drums.

The drum alone for that Jackhammer costs more than a Ruger Charger.

Yeah, I saw that. Shame looks like fun. 5 3/4 barrel would help keep more rounds under the 1100 fps for the can.

Was bidding on a td charger but lost by $5, lol. I'll snag one eventually. Will try to win a td model because I want to chop and thread the barrel to 3 inch or 4.5 inch. Seems like would it would be less Hassel than a fixed barrel. Knowing me ill get the jackhammer too for a fun can toy.
Don't really "need" the charger 22 because I have the 15-22P 8 inch. May look into getting a shorter barrel for it.
