i got some good advice here when i was researching chain saws, now lets talk about log splitters. ive just about got that big white oak tree cut up and ready to process it into firewood. home depot wants $119 a day to rent a gas splitter. if i go that route figure i will have to hit it hard for two days to get it all done. so, $240 and i have to work on the rental schedule.
i am considering buying a small electric splitter. they can be had for around $300 and up. the upside there is i can split the wood on the same schedule as i cut the tree up: as i have time. then i would turn around and sell the spitter for a fair price hopefully.
