Can anyone tell me if there is an after market hammer for a llama 1911 45cal. Mine needs replacing badly. And if so where I could find it.

From what I understand those aren't to 1911 spec so that might be a tough thing to find. Not sure on that though...

Have you broken it down and compared it to a standard 1911 hammer? That'd be my first step, and if you need a standard 1911 hammer to check out I believe that I have one laying around.

Yeah but there is some satisfaction to putting something together successfully too. Like the first AR lower that you put together and it actually works.

Definitely, the first time I broke down a 1911 I just looked at the pile of parts and scratched my head for a bit, definitely felt accomplished when it went back together with new parts and functioned.

I believe the standard GI hammer will work just fine with a little fitting. Have you checked the specs on the hammer in comparison to a standard 1911 specs?

Just curious, how did your hammer get buggered up? Or, do this things just wear out over time?

I'm guessing it just wore down over time. I took it as a partial trade (due to its shape) and knowing my pastor has a lot of knowledge with the 1911's I asked him to look at it. He said the half cock catch is good but the catch for full cock is wore out. So now I have to find the hammer. Can't sale it, found out I won't get my money out if it so might as well repair it.

It is not wore out , until it can't be fixed. If you will get some who know's what to do and see if the notch can be stoned back to hold. Have did this many times , and some times , I mass up to, but that is how you learn. Oh I have some hammer's laying around. Just my 2 cents jj

I don't have a clue on how to do, and every time I called a gunsmith they're off till Friday...lol. Not sure what a gunsmith or so done that can do it will cost yet. But I am very grateful for all the input I am receiving on this matter.
