J.C. Higgins model 66 auto load 12ga

Anyone here have any experience with these shotguns. Mine will shoot the chambered shell, FTE, and as a result double feed everytime. Not sure if it's an ejector issue or a gas cycling problem as I've read in some other sources.
I realize the value of this gun is $150-200 at best but it was given to me by my father in law and I'd like to see it run correctly even if cost goes a little over value.

What ammo are you using? If you are using cheap birdshot it may be a gas issue. Try some buckshot or high brass birdshot. If that doesn't work it may be an ejector or extractor issue.
