I'll be there. no need for a sidematch. Let's get back to 4 stages of pistol! Of 5 since we've been able to use range 2 for 3 stages and can fit 2 stages on range 2.5!

5 stages makes sense if there will be no side match. 5 stages AND a side match would take a bit too long IMO.
5 stages and no side match for this one sounds good to me.

I'll be here for this as long as my 1911 runs. Springfield called and it's going to be in Friday. 3 work day turnaround was fast

According to the Stage Design Rules:

6.9. No more than 25% of the shots required on any string of fire may be on steel targets. No more than 10%
of the total shots required in the match may be on steel. Activator steel with a scored target in front of it does
not count towards the allowable percentage of steel.

Now I'm pretty sure the local matches are more flexible than that, because we've had a stage where we shot 1/3 of our shots on steel. (3 steel poppers in a line with a silhouette behind them requiring 6 shots) In any case, I love shooting steel and would like to see more of it as well. It's so satisfying hearing my hits and the silence of Jogan's misses.

Good call TennJeep, but Rule 4.19 lists the targets NOT allowed for use in IDPA matches and the plate rack is one. So to get by this we can use the plate rack in one of the stages of the Rifle/Pistol match, but not in the pistol only IDPA match.

5 stages is a bit ambitious, but let's start with four and make sure we have enough time and people to man it and folks ready to tape the targets and keep things moving along. If that's good, maybe we can go five stages the following month.

There goes IDPA taking the real life scenarios out of the picture again....What if you were in a china shop, and there are lets say six bad guys all standing behind a rack and the only way to shoot them with combat effective shots is with 6 well placed shots through 6 plates! I mean, that's as realistic as most of the scenarios we run right!?! Now I don't feel quite as prepared. :pout:
