Idaho on the right tract: Instead of "asking permission" Staff would only need to inform the Principal and Superintendent that "they are Carrying". Of course opposition wants the issue to remain under local control (which we see in FL allows it to be denied) and the Sheriff's association doesn't want anybody armed but LE (same guys that always want their LE exemptions (cutouts) from the laws that apply to everyone else.
