I always have this problem....

I ended up with 2 compact 45's a little while back

Citadel 1911 Compact

and a Springfield XDs

Took them both to my brothers pistol range up close to Alabama last weekend to pick out a winner so I could sell the other one..... well... as usual I decided that I like them both to much to part with them any time soon.....

My opinions (comparing them to each other)

Accuracy out of the box was pretty much equal

Citadel 1911 Compact
Pros - Mag capacity, Heavier weight equaling less muzzle flip, nice trigger out of the box
Cons - Standard sights leave somewhat to be desired, Heavier weight, a pain to disassemble and clean

Springfield XDs
Pros - Light weight(easy carry) Nice sights (fiber front) Natural aim, Easy field strip and cleaning
Cons - Mag capacity, bit of muzzle flip due to light weight

I felt i was a slightly better shot out of the box with the Springfield XDs but I feel that with a sights upgrade to the Citadel that they would be completely equal.

Both fed and ejected bulk Federal 230 grain FMJ with no issues, however I did find a small "ding" on the sides of the Citadel ammo.
Anyone have any ideas what could be adjusted the correct this?

Yeah my dad Carries a citadel...with some minor upgrades like grip, firing plate on the back, and a spring job, he is very accurate with it and its gun to shoot!! Just expensive...btw I would love to have this problem..

problem is I WANT a S&W Governor pretty bad and the lack of selling one of these means that will have to wait for a bit longer.

Oh they have joined the Sig in the keepers column... doubt either one will go anywhere else any time soon

Everything has a price and this one does too but I am pretty sure you can buy one cheaper than I would sell this one for

Keep the XDS -- it will do everything the Citadel will do, only better. It is the pistol you will actually carry everyday.

Thanks for the input on the XDs. Been at a coin toss between it and an XD 40 sub. What do you carry it in?

I carry mine in a Minotaur Mtac hybrid holster, with my shirt tucked in over it, you'd have to know it was there to notice.
