Been using some stuff I've found to be helpful for better hunts.

Shooting blocks. Keep your rifle up and at the ready. Just slip into position and shoot.

Chest holster. Take it along and have it not be a nuisance the entire time. I modded this one by adding a blackhawk cqc poly with retention. There are much better ones out there. DD nylon or leather and Alien gear. I like the warm fuzzy of retention. Easy to swap holsters for other pistols.

3x, 4x or 2-7 scope. I don't really feel a 3x9 or larger scope is needed. Lighter is better as long as they pickup good light dawn, dusk. Suprisingly the spitfire 3x prism works great. Ymmv.

A heater.... not freezing in my stand, most of the time it's not bad. But some mornings yikes. Mr Buddy or Coleman cat.

Bogpod rifle tripod, clear-cut. Shooting house, in blind. Also good for setting scopes.

I'm sure I forgot something thats been handy.

Enlighten us. Folding saw? 5.56 belt fed?
It’s a take-apart saw that comes with bone and wood blades in a leather or cordura case. I use it to trim tree limbs, cut down small trees and cut bone when skinning deer.
I keep one in my truck, one at home and one in my hunting box.
I’ve had mine 40 years. They are all cast aluminum.

Primos trigger Stick monopod. Great gun rest for ground blinds, kneeling, or those tree stands with awkward rest heights.

Used one to shoot my first buck in January. Sitting in a ladder stand with rails too low use as a rest. Deer walked out into a narrow food plot at 250yds, only had about 8 seconds to identify and make the shot before he walked into the woods on the other side. Perfect double lung hit. Would have been very hard to do freehand

That's a great idea. I had to shoot from a low rail tripod. Freehand. Luck or my natural skill (lol) got me an 8. Would have been nice to have a rest, i would have been sick had I missed.
I have a super clamp rest ( buckees) that clips on to just about anything but forgot it that day.

Thanks! It was a .CZ alpha 600 in .308 - amazing trigger from the factory, love it.

Nice! I don’t know many folks hunting with x39

Same ballistics as 30-30 more or less. Key is the ammo. Need to track down more. Winchester PDX1 DEFENDER 120GR. I think it's out of production. Sux. It destroyed the innards and drt. Massive organ damage. Bullet never exited, must have just blew up.
Tack driver out of the Ruger.
    Clear cut ready!
