Hogs in NY??

Growing up in this area in NY I had no clue hogs were around there.. I thought they mostly stayed in the southern states but I guess it was only a matter of time til they migrated north.

You've never seen the sororities at Ithaca then, pigs everywhere =) Also growing up in NY, I had no flipping idea!

I played ball at Cortland State, I know about all the pigs in that area.. Were you a Bomber?

I went to Alford for a semester, then transferred back to PA (Mansfield & Lock Haven due to having a boxing program)....Cortland, those girls have mustaches, while Ithaca has hairy pits and biscuits...

I bought a cabin in Dundee when I was in my late 20's near Keuka Lake on the wine trail, man those were the days.... hunt all day, drink wine all night....

I had a buddy that went to Alfred State, spent a month there one night..

That area of NY is beautiful, I had a friend that went to Keuka College I used to visit as well.. My family still owns a cabin in Speculator in the ADKS, wish there wasnt all that white stuff up there Id move back in a heartbeat.. Well that and if they changed their ridiculous gun laws..

Keuka College is awesome....such a cute little place, everyone is so chill up there. You would move back? I've only been here since 09' and love this area, no desire to move back, although a cabin again up there IF the SHTF beats a cabin in AL where I'm looking now. I got a sweet cabin shell on 15 acres or so for 55K in 04' sold it due to divorce (for 95K) a year later....man I miss it! Check the view of the fog lifting off Keuka Lake, sweet!

Hogs that are showing up in some of the states are not/were not indigenous to the area. Some time ago (25+ years that I am aware of)hogs were brought in to Pa. to be "hunted" on the high fence operations. Some escaped and stared "makin' bacon". Last I hear'ed there were hunt-able hog populations in 35 states or so. Could be more now. --- SAWMAN

Met a guy while hunting in Bedford Co. ,Pa. He started talking about the hogs in the area. Wasnt aware of them. He finally stated that he got tired of going South to hunt them so he had some Russian boar brought to his farm to breed them. After a while they broke down the fences ( this is were he laughs ) and now they are moving all over. He owns quite a bit of farm land that borders the State Game Lands and it is posted now. Game comm. never figured out how they got there I guess.
