Can anyone help me identify this gun and maybe point me in the direction to find some history on it?

When you are trying to read Markings on old Rusty guns, Brush it with a wire brush or old toothbrush. Then mark over with chalk or something similar. Then wipe it off. the chalk will stay in the low areas Making it easier to read.
