if i could find em for 200, i'd buy a couple sets! buddy still runs tables at gun shows in Wyoming and a couple other states bordering. theres lots of original colt, s&w grips out there. problem is, original diamond magna grips for s&w are 250-275 for average ones. factory combat (finger grooves) are 325-400. colt python wood grips are around 300ish now too. Thom called me last time he saw a decent set of stags for k frame s&w... 325. ahhh, the good old days. They’re still out rgere if you want to pay the price: $200 up for real stag.
Just remember that real European stag has different DNA than American and the Euro stag won't shrink over time... just like fake stag. This looks like the perfect thread to asked how to tell the difference from a high quality faux stag and a real stag. I have a set for a J frame square butt S&W and they look real stag to me but someone told me the were not. Let me know what you guys think. View attachment 145223 View attachment 145224
I would have but I couldn't find a Mark II reasonably priced.Check out the prices of Eagle Sambar Stag grips. I had a set for sale for a Ruger MK II but no one wanted to pay the price, and I'm not going to give them away. I'm thinking about buying a MK II to put them on.
It seems like those Mk II's are going for MK IV prices. I think they are the most desirable Marks of all.I would have but I couldn't find a Mark II reasonably priced.
