It really comes down to preference if you're talking about the newer XPS line of Eotech vs. the Aimpoint. I prefer Aimpoints because they have a better battery life and are a bit more friendly towards my astigmatism. If you're looking at the older 512 type inline battery series; you couldn't give me one. In the last 3 years I haven't had one make through one of my 2 day rifle classes without breaking.

PRO is by far the best value going. Only thing I don't like about the pro is the supplied mount has a large knob that can get in the way. Very happy otherwise
Ford vs Chevy. Take your pick.

    PRO - long battery life
Eotech - large window to look through; the circle is easy to pick up rapidly

I have both, for me it's a "flip a coin", and I'd be happy with either.

    Nice Solution Kenny..

I say Trijicon. No Batteries Needed. Fixed Magnifacation. Illuminated Recticle. The list goes on...

    Wildcardace,

What optics did you use while in the ground forces?

My offer: You have a PVS14 weapon's mount...may I borrow it for some PVS14 mounting experiments? It will be returned when I'm done in the same condition. When I pick it up, I'll bring an assortment of Eotechs and Aimpoints for you to look through and look at.

Trjicon comes with a price. You could go RMR but you're still paying well more than the Aimpoint. The no batteries thing is true to a point. The tritium does not last forever.

    Still a great product though.

No disrespect intended, but I think the half life for Tritium is 10 or 12 years. Yes you have to pay for Quality Optics.. Longevity is key.

The tritium optics just aren't up to snuff for illumination in low/no light. They are also highly susceptible to having the dot washed out in varying light conditions such as shooting from the shadows into bright light. I still love my ACOGs, but that doesn't mean I don't need to tape a mini chem-light to the fiber optic to get a usable amount of illumination out of them at night. Same for the non-battery RMR; great optics, but if you're planning on using them at night opt for a battery powered optic.
I'm currently running a half dozen RMRs on Glocks, and Uzi and an AR the only one that is dual illumination is a 10mm conversion I've been playing with.
All that said, the dual illumination Trijicon optics are the crispest dots I've seen on any dot type optic.

Sure you can borrow it. and I would love to take a look at the sights too.

I've not owned an Aimpoint, but I have 2 Eotechs that have been fantastic on several different weapons. Never had an issue, and the reticle is a bit more usable at longer distances than the red dot (Vector) I have once I spent some time with it.
    Just sayin..

Aimpoint for the win. I'd rather have the T-1 than a pro, but if it is strictly between a pro and a eotech xps, then pro all day long. I killed a Xps2 before I ever got serious about learning the AR platform.

2 MOA aimpoint > Eotech > 4 MOA aimpoint (because of my astigmatism)

I love the Eotech reticle, but aimpoints are tougher.
