If I may suggest, you should mount a new scope at 16x magnification or more. That nickle size bulleyes is mighty small with 4x power. Cheers.
16X...DANG!!!!! We trying to split a knats arse or what??? LOL!!!

Thanks for the heads up.

ALCON, message from Lee Brown (Match Director) - T

    Benchrest Shooters,

This message is to announce another ARA .22 rimfire benchrest match at Element Training Complex in Holt. This match is scheduled to be held on the 3rd Saturday of every month and will NOT interfere with the current ERGC match on the 4th Saturday of every month.

First match at Holt will be March 19th and will be limited to 20 shooters only and 2 targets. Fee is $25 payable at the pro shop when you arrive then proceed to the 100 yard range for setup and bench assignment. Gates open at 8am and we hope to have first shots downrange by 9am.

This is an introductory match to gauge interest. If all goes well, future matches will increase the number of shooters, relays and targets. Match fee will not increase and might even decrease.

Pre-registration is required as always at the link below.

I highly recommend that you use the most magnification you have or can get on your scope. A nickel sized bullseye is very small at 50 yards. It is not uncommon in this discipline to shoot scopes with 40, 50 or 60x scopes. You don't need super expensive scopes with high end glass, you just need high power.

You also need the best ammo you can get, preferably sub-sonic. Check out RWS and ELEY. High end ammo is also high cost ammo but very consistent and accurate. Not uncommon to pay $20 for a box of 50.

Lastly, you need good rests, front and rear, or a bipod front. Adjustable screw type front rests that can make small adjustments are best. Rabbit eared rear rest works well.

Funny you mention ammo...I spent last night searching for it...just to see what's available.
