Does this barrel look short to you?

So I just got a message from someone on Armslist asking to trade a shotgun for ammo, out of curiosity I ask for details and he gives me this link:

I tell him that I think the barrel looks short, and start googling to try and figure out what this gun in an 18" barrel looks like and I find this:

Same pictures, different states, looks under 18", seems pretty shady right?

I sent him a link to the armslist posting that I found asking why the gun was listed in two states, he replied telling me he was in Atlanta for the weekend but lives in Navarre...

I am not going to even engage the guy further... Gotta be trolling for someone stupid enough to buy an illegal SBS over state lines...

I live in Navarre, Fl and I'm going through mobile and Gulfport then New Orleans for a week. I'm putting the same gun up for sale because I'm trying to sell it. I really don't need to explain anything to you, I'm just looking for the best deal for my gun. If you aren't interested then leave me alone. I can understand your suspicion as I am a retired LEO. Thanks

Being a retired LEO you should know that your transacting and privately selling a gun across state lines is illegal. Good luck.

I gotcha, hard to judge things like this via the pictures, definitely looks close though.

Thanks for not giving me a hard time. With all the crazies out there one should be very cautious dealing with any one online but I assure you it's legal. It came from my father's collection and he had the barrel cut down by a gunsmith. It is good that you are warning your members about suspicious listings too.

Sometimes you just need proof. I posted the shotgun for sale and included a photo of the barrel length. That IS a fact Jack.
