    Hello everybody!
I've got a 2005 ford f250 with the 6.0L diesel that is stock everything. And yes its had its share of problems but I got a good deal on it and cant afford a new one.
I am wanting to make it sound better, a buddy of mine straight piped (no kitty and no muffler) his and it sounds awsome. At idle the turbo sounds good and only when he gooses it does it get loud. I have deleted my kitty but still have the factory muffler and was wondering if I put an aftermarket muffler on it will I still get that turbo whistle or will I have to just delete the muffler too. I pull alot and was afraid if I delete the muffler it will get too loud when towing. I am really just wanting the turbo whistle with a little rumble.
Let me know what yall think.
    Thanks
    Brian

Have you deleted the egr cooler? The egr downpipe has a big baffle in it.

Yep, lose that big ol muffler. I got a brp (I think) full 4" exhaust for my 7.3 for under 250 bucks. It was a super easy install, flows better and sounds waaaay cooler. Also, get bigdaddy to delete your cooler!

Hey BigDaddy, I figured you would be the one to talk to about this. I have not done an egr delete, and really didnt want to spend a whole lot of money on the exhaust system. It seems that the 4" turbo back is the best way to go but I was trying to do it cheaper and try to get similar results if possible, but I dont if it will be.

Delete the muffler, and it will sound different.. I've got a duramax I deleted the muffler on and it sounds pretty good, it was abit loud.. I plan on doing a 4 or 5 inch exhaust at some point.... I would do the egr stuff to that truck though, they are a big time problem after awhile.. You think, spend the money now.. Or more money later on it when something breaks..

If you really like the whistle, buy a compressor wheel like a wicked wheel or bat mo wheel

I heard the 7.3's will have a louder turbo whistle than the 6.0's

Nope, the 6.0 has a variable vein turbo which makes tons of whistle, the 7.3 guys want that kind of whistle but it just won't happen, even with a wicked wheel and exhaust, just two different animals.
