I’m selling this for a recently widowed neighbor and know nothing about it other than what I can see. It appears to function ok but I’ve not shot it.

Colt DA, U.S. Army Model 1894.
From what I gather from my cursive research these guns normally have 6” barrels so apparently this one has been shortened.
Also, from what I’ve read, they were chambered in .38 Long Colt. It’s my understanding that it will also shoot .38 Short Colt but do your due diligence, I make no guarantees. You must be a Florida resident and legally able to own a handgun.
    Price is $300.

.38 short Colt is harder to find than .38 long Colt. .38 S&W might fit but is probably a little too big around.

In this 1903 mfg Colt 1877 the Cylinder measured to 0.380 but don’t have a 38 colt cartridge to measure but the 38 S&W ( nickel case)I have measures about .382. But brass case was .380 until it got almost in but swelled to .382. Don’t believe the brass is reloads but not sure.
38 spl is .375 but most loaded ammo is too long. Some light load 38 spl wad cutters would probably work if one really wants to shoot it.

If I remember correctly, the cylinder of the 1877 doesn’t have a shoulder. I think the 1894 does, thus preventing the .38Spl case from fitting all the way in.
