I have a pristine 12 gauge Shockwave with upgraded safety latch and Magpul forearm.

I would like to trade my Mossberg Shockwave for a Remington Tac-14.

I get it and understand the Mossberg Shockwave. The position of the safety and the double extractors on the Shockwave are likely an enhancement over the TAC-14. But I am a Remington guy.

Correct. The Shockwave is a 590, a 14-inch barrel rather than 18.5” or 20”, and a distinguishing “birds-head” style grip. According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Shockwave is not a shotgun.
