    I built a new rifle.
    Screenshot 2023-05-27 at 5.34.52 PM.png

Its beautiful (to me) - Mostly Geissele.
    Balistic Advantage Barrel
    Wilson Combat Grip
    Magppul Stock
    Supurlitave Arms Gas Block

This thing was so much fun to build and honestly, one of the nicest (Most expensive) AR's I have ever put together.

I spent 15 minutes at the range today - Just for a quick function test.

    Screenshot 2023-05-27 at 5.06.37 PM.png

All Im getting is a click and a light primer strike - Multiple rounds, all factory loads.

Any Ideas what could be causing this?

Some kind of factory BCG or you put that together too? You've shot some of that ammo in other guns before? I don't really know how it could be something with the trigger, those are kinda you got them put in there right or you don't, especially if that's a Geissele. Upper and lower lock up tight together? When you extracted those rounds, they slinged out good like normal?

I have a sneaky feeling that lefty is from the same batch of 300 tracers I got from you that was labeled as defects. I tried a few and got duds also lol. I think it's also why they appear to have obscured the LC. Those appear to be 556 bit if it was from the same makers as mine yeah it could be the ammo. I had a few with bad snags, wouldn't cycle. I'll prolly file the edges and try sending them again. I'll attach a Pic of one that's similar tho that my Rattler struck maybe 4 times trying to make it happen but no Bueno lol. But... the ones that fired did flare up tho! But I think it's why they was so cheap lol;)

It's not a Geissele upper, its a Gibbs Arms Upper.
    Geissele trigger.

Its a surplus BCG... Not marked, and looks like it's seen a lot of rounds. Im debating dropping in a Cryptic Coatings BCG or hopefully just a firing pin upgrade.

Figured Id ask here and see what you guys think.

I hope not. I don't think I have any of the factory defect ammo left. That was fun for blasting and prancing malfunctions, but I won't be repeating that experiment.

I was shooting Lake City, Frontier, Hornady Black... That's what's leading me to believe it's the BCG or just the firing pin.

I’ve got a brand new bcg psa/toolcraft in Milton sitting in my safe you are welcome to try out anytime but sounds like you have an option for that…that’s what I would try first before you do anything too major.

From the sounds of it you have built a few rifles before, so you probably didn't install any of the Springs in backwards. This right here looks like a headspace issue if it's consistent light strikes.
Im reasonably confident it's not a backward spring. The Trigger is a Geissele SD-E

Im really hoping its not headspace. Im not sure how I would fix that issue.

This is a Gibbz arms side charging upper and it doesn't have a forward assist or anything like that.

Iv built a few, and even ones I don't build, I like to inspect so I know how to fix if I have to... Just puzzled on this one and figured Id ask here. :)

Take another good AR BCG and measure the length of the Firing Pin with a Micrometer or Calipers. Then measure the one in this rifle. See if there is a difference.
I'll check this in 30 min. I need to put my mini to bed.

Top one is the cleaned up one that was in the Rifle today.
I don't have a Mic, but according to my calipers, the Pin is 3.280

The bottom one (I know its filthy) is measuring 3.279
That one was running just fine in my Aero build.

I've been pretty critical of BA's .223 barrels having had sent three back, one of which caused damage to my AEM5 suppressor.

If a substitute BCG and stock FCG does the same, then BA crap barrels strike again.

By the way, I have the same barrel if that's a 16" SS Fluted... had to send one of those back as well. Current one shoots ok.

I'd slap a stock FCG in there with the same BCG to rule out a FCG issue. If problem continues, swap BCG's.

    Interested in what you discover.

Ignore my machining job on the upper. (and my equally bad sharpie cover up)
The barrel is flush and Im not seeing any brass that would indicate gouging.

1 thou isn't enough to make a difference here. I'd swap out the Bolt and see what it does. If same problem then Barrel Lugs are machined wrong.
My thoughts as well, Might just swap the entire BCG and try it out tomorrow.
