Hey Rick ....... most beautiful knife. I have one of the older Kalinga's also. The box has long since disappeared as has the original insert for the sheath. I got a new one from Buck some years ago by simply giving them a call. I see that you still have yours.
My knife was bought about 1987 from a distributor in New Hampshire. The knife has been used to cape moose,bear,and deer. The blade is a great combo of hard enough to hold an edge,and soft enough to sharpen fairly easily. It's ergonomics are great. Super easy to hold on to when your hands are wet and slimy with blood.
I do believe that these knives were a limited production run ..... remembering that a buddy got a chance to use mine once,tried to find one,and they were not available anymore.
