I measure my bore (throat) wear for rifles that I have a gage that will fit. I just reached a goal of 1000 cast bullets through my Canadian Long Branch #4 Enfield, actually 1019 rounds fired as of today.
WWII Canadian made 2 groove bbl. After 1019 rounds fired of 200gr gas checked cast bullets with 27.0gr AA2200, my gage showed no wear. I'm not surprised. Cleaning it today; no signs of leading (not surprised). Will pick another rifle that I've not fired it 1000 rounds and take it out every week until 1000 fired. Reloading the same load over and over, it saves on resetting the powder measure. Oh, I take out at least two rifles each range session. Have fun!
