Awsome rifle training and open gym concept.

Had a great time with the barrel and hatchet boys and sidewinder concepts this weekend. Awesome group. Good training. Fun experience. The concept of open gym was discussed and a few of us locals in pcola are thinking to start it up.

Open gym is a day where we train as a group at the range. No classes. No fees. Just guys working their gear and shooting skills and team building. Fun competition and some physical excercise.

This is an invite and vetted event. Shooters must show safe carry usage and safe handling as well as a standard of marksmaship ( keep rounds on target mostly)

We did something similar in Tallahassee called the Captial City Carbine Club (C4 for short). There were two guys who would set up the drills and people would show up and shoot whatever they had on the drills. It was really just a shoot, no formal instruction given other than simple peer review. If it was going to be a class there would have to be insurance and lesson plans and all manner of hassle no one had time for!

It wasn't invite only though. You were welcome until you weren't.
