Primary Arms has BCM charging handles on sale currently for "Black Friday" for 34.99, so I got one of those to now.

Everythings coming together. BCG, sights, and AFG and I should be set...I think

also, I'm sure at least one of you has noticed but the KNS pins bent a lil bit while installing them. KNS is a standup company and is warrantying the pins at no cost and with no questions. Awesome

Where did you get the buffer, buffer tube and spring? Did you get it in a kit? Has anyone heard of making a 5.45x39 AR pistol? I've seen a couple on the internet but has anyone built or shot one? I'm looking into that because the surplus ammo is much cheaper.

I got the buffer tube from PSA (its really a Rock River tube) and the spring and buffer from surplusammo.com. I'd suggest finding the buffer tube somewhere else if you need it this year, hah.

I've gotten in some parts and did some assembly here a few minutes ago. I'M FREAKING STOKED!!!!!!!!!

Ordered a DTI stripped upper, BCM Gunfighter charging handle, barrel nut, Troy Bravo Battlerail 7.2", and an ACE TBO bottle opener for flair, haha. Parts came in this afternoon and here she is...

Still missing BCG and sights. I wont assemble an upper again without a block, lower...fine, but never again an upper without the right tools. Scared the hell out of myself trying to put the upper in a vice while protecting it as it wanted to twist and turn in the vice securing the barrel and flash hider.

Ian, its just the rustoleum exposy setup with a clear on it. Dont skip the clear, it makes all the difference in the world and keeps the epoxy from wearing out as quick and staining.
