New to ar 15 family. I got one that came with a barska tactical scope mounted to the carry handle. How do I remove it? It has a clip under the carry handle. And, looks like 2 teeth in grooves in bottom of scope. Clip move in a circle either direction with a little resistance. Doesn't seem to loosen anything. Any help appreciated.

It might have thread lock on it and the throw lever is stripped out. Might have to cut it off. No worries, it's like $50 brand new

I've had a couple of these carry handle mounted scopes over the years. My favorite was a 3-9x, because most of them were fixed 4x. Trijicon even makes an ACOG for the fixed carry handle, at like $1200. But that Barska is nothing special. I'd cut it off.

If I'm not mistaken just unscrew the lower nut, it's like a giant wing nut or you may have to flip the latch 90 degs and unscrew the nut. Be careful. Dont demolish it and I'll buy it .

    Any luck??
Tried to send you a mssg. Might not have been right format. I will contact you when I take it off. Can you reccomend ring height for carry handle mount? I've seen some ring and mount combos but pricey. Also looking for fixed stock. A lot of places are out right now. I carried an m16 in 1968. I'm an older dude. I have a bushmaster 5.56 cal made in Maine in 09.
    Thanks for your interest.

Trijicon has the best carry handle optic. Hands down, period.

I found this but its not much help, I can't get sub Links to open.

    Removal:

    a. I think you need to pull down on the Lever to clear the Tab/Hole, then unscrew Lever. If the Lever doesn't pull the Tab clear, slide a standard screwdriver between the Lever and the base to create clearence so the lever will turn independently.

    b. You could also check for a tool slot in the bottom.

    c. If it appears to be stripped, slide small wood or plastic wedge/shim (the type used to level furniture/toilets, Loew's has them) or standard screwdrives between Lever and Mount (both sides) and apply downward pressure while trying to unscrew the lever. You may get better threads to engage.

    d. Mototool.

    Good lock.
