Previous owner did a pretty aggressive frame re-contour and wondering, short of a frame replacement, what may make this a little more attractive. Thought about getting a stippling iron or hydro dip or both. Would rather do it myself but have never attempted either.
Don’t have enough 15rd mags to cut it down to a 19L...

+1 Talon grip tape. Put it on all my guns pistols and rifles, surefire M900 weapon light, x-box controller, etc. addicted to it. They send a sticker with every order and I no longer have any room on my safe to put them :) .

A dremel could be a dangerous tool
Was the cavity area filled with epoxy? Was just concerned about the integrity of the frame. Stippling is not hard but to get a clean look could be a challenge. Trick is not going too deep. I've done it and they've turned out pretty good. I'd say give it it a shot and go slow. You're not near me but if you're interested, I'll loan you my kit to try. It has all kinds of tips including extras ..basketweave, waffle, etc.. pick your poison. Try it on a cheap A2 grip or a pmag first.

PM me your address and I'll ship it to you. I'll even pay the shipping.

Looks like a good candidate for an liquid epoxy dip.. then dip it into some sand blasting grit. In theory I guess you can use epoxy to add material back where you want also since the grit would hide it anyways. But I've seen it done with good results. It's kinda like a perm talon grip. You can YouTube it and see it done

That thing looks like it is done. I would have serious concerns about shooting it.

That thing could be a round or two from turning your hand into a polymer cactus or worse.

The epoxy idea could add some integrity back to it - but is it worth it?

My vote - buy a nice aftermarket frame and move all the good parts on it.

Thanks for all suggestions and the very generous offer KD. Grip is comfortable as is but just unfinished. Will probably get gen1 version Talon to cover up the stipple job if I screw it up too bad. I probably over paid for pistol but did get 15 boxes of federal for $10/box.

The critical areas where the moving parts and springs are haven't been messed with, sure it would function fine, someone just wanted a 1911 feel in a Glock I guess by thinning out the grip profile.

+ another for the Talon Grips, I have a set on a G43 and they are nice, would try that first.

From what I can tell from the photos the structural integrity of the fame should be ok. If you want, I can cold cerakote it for you which should add about 0.001" to it. Then you could put some talon grips on it. I'm pretty sure we can turn that Ugly Duckling into a Swan...."I feel pretty oh so pretty"...

Go to the local hardware store and go to the plumbing aisle. Find the rubber shrink tubing. Usually sold by the foot off of a roll. Find the diameter you need and cut a piece that will slide over the grip. Shrink it to fit the grips contours with a cigarette lighter. Will give you a nice grippy rubber grip for less than like $2. Here's a picture of the same rubber tubing making a seamless rubber grip over my leather stack USAF pilots knife. It's lasted over 10 years now. When I had Sub2000's I used a different product, a silicone rubber plumbing "rescue tape", on the Sub2000 pistol grips. I still have a roll leftover

Do they have one big enough to put around a John boat? Kidd'n. Houge slip on could work.

I'd be real worried about what else could have been done to this pistol... you should have @Kduly look at it very closely

There is hope If there is some material left and still get some good texture back into the grip.
