I think DOT specifies 5 years for commercial vehicles.
Last year I drove the box van to Arkansas and back. Tires had less than 10k on them but I completely fogot the age of them and didn't check the sidewall date code. I did a thorough pre-trip inspection including tire pressure before leaving. Was carrying about a ton of aircraft parts in the back. Started feeling a bit of vibration in MS and then right att the MS/AL line I had the outside right tire grenade (dualie). Enough was left on the rim to make the van inoperable. Called roadside service, they came out, replaced the tire and I told the guy to check the rest. He did what he could on the side of the road and thought I could make it into Hot Springs. I made it and left the van with a tire store all the next day for them to spin, load test, balance or replace if needed. Picked it up the next day and was told "good to go". Notice no one discussed mfr date. I took off and rear tire #2 exploded at almost the same mile marker heading the other way. This time the tire stripped completely off and I was light so I limped into a tire store and told the guy to check the dates. 8 years old. I told him to replace everything. I check dates now on everything.
Sean my car was a beverage cart if that tells you anything, full canopy had a big ice chest and a bikini clad babe driving it...then someone put a rack on the back.
Sean that is a problem with alot of motorhomes,Really low miles and old tires. That can be a killer. Used motorhome and the tires are 5 or 6 years old and they get sold. This motorhome has 9 new tires on it. Don't forget the spare even if it hasn't been on the ground.

Elite Trailers on E Hwy 90 in Crestview will blow away the prices on any trailer from Lowes or TSC. They have a website, so you can shop and compare. I bought a 6X12 single axel from them this year. They are built in Laurel Hill too, I believe.
Found one, a buddy called me a few minutes ago and had a 6x8 given to him from his uncle because it was too small. It was too small for him too, but he knew I was looking for one. I'll leave the thread open though since Frank is still looking.
