Honestly, you just have to laugh at it. What else is one to do?

It's obviously bad for shooters who are new to the sport - just makes the barrier to entry / shooting often harder, but I think a lot of us forget most people buy a gun and a couple boxes of ammo, maybe shoot it once and then never again. They feel good they have it and that's enough.

Many of us here do otherwise, shooting often, training, enjoying - but it's hard to accept that we are the small minority of firearm owners. And the shooters amongst us will continue to 'pay to play' as we need / desire too.

I saw a statistic once, not too long ago and can’t remember where… but the percentage of gun owners in America that had fired less than 50 rounds through a gun, ever, was staggeringly high.

I believe it. So many that go buy a gun and shoot it once if at all. Covid showed us that. I’ve picked up a lot of great deals the last couple years on NIB guns people panic bought then decided they didn’t need.

Now is not a great time to start reloading….but there’s never a bad time. Get a cheap press and a scale. Pick a couple calibers and get dies. Save your brass and when powder and primers are a “fair” deal, buy! Bullets almost always available.
