Hogs... high/forward of shoulder. doe was hit a little high/forward unintended.
Thanks. Trying to get an idea where the best spot to aim/hit. Never used a handgun cartridge to hunt deer with before. I'll be using a 16 inch carbine w 3x sight. 200gr hardcast flat point.(10mm)

In my opinion, POA doesn’t change.

Shot placement remains the same, hogs require a slightly higher and forward POA vs. deer.

Granted, but trying to hit a larger spot to allow for the nut behind the trigger. (and the trigger sux in the carbine) normally on deer I shoot the pump. I have it 0 at 50 yards. 8-10 inch drop at 100. Crap trigger made the flyer. Clicked sight up 2 clicks. On target now.

    Another example of shot placement...

This hog was taken at about 10-15 yards with a G19 and factory 124gr Gold Dot +P. Went about 10-15 yards if that. Same POI, slightly high and forward.

The 124gr GD +P is a nasty round... this was recovered from a water jug...

Was it a shoot thru? I have some 200gr hps that look alot like that unknown maker, they do have the cupped base like that. Tks for the info. J

Oh, 6pt ment to ask why the 180gr?? Instead of 200gr. Better? Thanks for the load data, btw. Large pistol or mag primers?

Wanted a little more speed and it's what I had on hand.. I'm using Large Pistol Primers.

I have some 155XTP's at 1431 FPS but I'll die of old age before I use up my 180gr stash.

Ikr. I was wondering about carbine also myself. These things feel like empty casings cause they're so lightweight. I wonder if ya make can make longer shots also? But they may also Peter out fast vs the air. But check these stats. They have some boogie on em. Likely just good for defense rounds. But makes ya wonder

Wow. I'll have to look for some. Would love to try some of the 97 gr poly bullets but they are dried up.

    Slight derail

Not sure. Theres the hogfarm near me. Never been to it. Then the foley gunstore guys looked like they was making one on 65. But then the koof hit and tourists jammed that road up so bad I never drive that way to watch progress anymore. So honestly don't know. I have my own range tho. About 1-200 yards. Few AR 500 plates and 2 pistol grade armor silhouettes. So I never really need other ranges. I just use mine. I would like to visit one soon tho to stretch out my big bores sometime soon tho now that it's cooled off some
