which caliber?
.308 all the way...lot's of data easily available...with a 168gr bullet you would be looking at about 15 inches of drop from 100 to 300- Sniperpeeps

Need help with purchasing a AR for deer hunting.

AR-10 with a good muzzle brake, adjustable gas block and a cyclic rate reducing buffer will kick less than a standard AR-15 and have all the knockdown power you need + cheap ammo.- Sniperpeeps

WTS Ruger M77 Mark 2 Stainless w/ muzzle brake 7mm
I have a Ruger M77 Mark 2 in 7 mag, stainless with skeleton stock. It has a Bushnell Elite scope. I have both the laminate wood and synthetic inserts for the stock. It also has a factory installed muzzle brake. I got this thing in a trade and I want to get rid of it as I have no need for it...- Sniperpeeps
