According to sig it lasts 10 years, lol
Mines lasted over a year so far. Mines a smaller moa too tho. They say a good rule of thumb on when to change these is every 4 years when the elections happen as a good way to remember and be sure they're fresh. You can wait to see that after Kamalas 2nd term is over if it lasts 10 tho lol

Other than the expense, I was surprised the self illuminated Trijicons never really seemed to take off for this purpose. I like mine.

Ikr. I love mine too. I'd buy some even if they was just fiber optic and worked only at day time. I'd use those on range guns. I would use the dual tritium style ones on those I'd want to carry only. From what I understand also the tritium aspect is what makes them super expensive anyways. If someone made a fiber optic only model it should be cheap, crisp and clear, be super tough, be super small since there's no battery and last forever in theory.

I may try those out one day. Maybe snag a used one somewhere. Be great for a rifle. But yeah one the size of a Zero or RMR that's fiber optic only seems like a cheap idea that's reliable. Then they could also sell like a tritium clip on for the top for if and when you do want night ability. That way when the tritium dies you can just trash it and not have to send it off and be replaced. Maybe that will be a thing one day

Right. I like the idea of them. It would be nice tho to have some like this tho that don't cost a ton. This is my favorite type of open red dot now of all I've tried. And you can still use irons, (which with my super low profile CZ sights that is nice and not many can do that, most are too high). They're just crazy expensive or else if have them on everything lol. After putting my this and my Zero on rifles I now rather like the fact they're so small and you can see more around them. And they fit into small bags better too. So it's just a thought I've had. Since mine is getting old the idea of user replaceable tritium seems better and better by the day lol
