If you are close to Escambia River Gun Club, Lee is hosting another 22 Bench Rest on Saturday.

If you are into dynamic shooting, try RPGi USPSA match at Element Training Complex. This is my video shooting last Sat match. It was a beautiful day given Friday weather.

Question fo veteran ARA competitors, what are your opinions of high velocity .22lr loads from Eley,SK,RWS. Buck the wind a little better than standard velocity? Not as accurate? I ran across these HV looking around on GunBroker.

Generally speaking, supersonic rounds are not used in ARA due to the buffeting that takes place as they return through the sound barrier to sub-sonic. However, there is ample ballistic evidence that some of these rounds remain supersonic past 50 yards, making that a moot point.

However, I shoot exclusively RWS R50 subsonic rounds at about 1090 muzzle velocity and they are incredibly precise.

    Sir,

The video from Vudoo Gun Works regarding accuracy of 22LR precision rifle and ammo is below. It is very helpful in determining which ammo to use for your rifle. Using higher velocity ammo doesn’t equate to better hit on target with the wind. It is better to know your ammo performance with your rifle (Barrel Harmonic). I use StreLok Pro for my CZ 457 MTR with SK Pistol Match Special to help with windy days. Staple a wind flag at the target post helps with visual of wind direction and speed.

If you want to tune your rifle to an ammo, the rifle manufacture company will have a torque specs for your front and rear action screws. They are very specific and can affect the bullet impact point on the target by changing the torque setting. For Example: You decided to use CCI STD Vel ammo brand, and the grouping is 1inch at 50 yd. By increasing or decreasing the action screws torque, the impact point will either tighten up the group of expand them. This method take a long time to do. Hoped my statement help.

RWS R50 is endorsed by LGBTQ+ Disney Corporation as the most penetrable ammo. Lee loves rainbow colors Micky Mouse on his RWS 22LR ammo boxes. LOL
