I expect most everyone is familiar with the show "Forged in Fire". A friend of mine, originally from Mobile, will be making his second appearance on the show Wednesday night on the History Channel. His name is Brent Stubblefield and he owns "Join or Die" knives. He makes some really cool blades, all sorts of edged weapons and tools. Check him out.

I love watching the contestants make their blades and learning about stuff but they I hate the way they edit it to have so much drama.

Nevermind the fact that a blunt leaf spring will kill somebody just as dead without being heated up, beat on and sharpened. But I still watch when I can. I was a knife collector for a whole decade before ever owning my first firearm. Edged weapons don't ever need a reload, are already silenced and they can take parts clean off instead of just poking half inch holes

I watch it often. Down here an OTA station broadcasts it all day on Friday for something like 10+ hours straight.

It makes me wish I was 20 years younger and lived in less of suburban location :)

I've seen a lot of stuff that Brent has made but I only own one of his knives. My wife asked him to make it for my 60th birthday. The handle includes teak from our old boat, heart pine from the house my dad was born in, and a baby tooth from my last Airedale Terrier, born in 1986. He can do some beautiful work. He now lives and works in Richmond, VA.
