Or got ambushed.. if they tried to serve a warrant they go as a team and this guy was prepared for them to arrive from the looks of it.. and if he was ready to be killed then he was guilty of something.

There may well have been FBI/LE inquires to others or even questioning the BG before the the Warrant attempt was made. Maybe he was tipped off by those questioned or suspicious of new computer contacts w/o connections to other child porn/molesters he dealt with. Suspicious that the heat was coming or just happened to see the FBI approach while he had a loaded firearm available? His response obviously shows he didn't think he would be a free man again and prison time as a child sex abuser is brutal and often fatal.

This is being obviously discussed elsewhere. some people are saying in this day age one can not always depend upon what was in the paper. it is easy for a government hacker or other person to plant kiddie porn on your computer.
We do know two FBI agents were killed at that address and likely by a kiddie porner. But we really can not say for sure.

As with any of this stuff, either in the military or the civilian community, the element of TOTAL surprise is the key. But sometimes just as important is to set indicators in place that will quickly let you know if the surprise has been lost. To fork this up is SERIOUS !!
To know there will be a surprise party and not show that you know is a total advantage. It is hard, but can be done. A great example of this in the military is called a "false extract". Don't know if this is done anymore but it usually works great if you stay ahead of the "word of mouth". --- SAWMAN

During WWII hand grenades were used to dispel doubt. But then one could do this lol.

My mother lives a few blocks away from where this happened. I've been past there many times.

Not knowing what happened, I predict 1) a semiautomatic rifle or magnum revolver that defeated the FBI's soft armor was the perpetrators firearm 2) he got the good guys from inside the building and probably thru a window or door's preplanned killzone 3) guarantee it was at some sort of choke point like a hallway or walled courtyard sidewalk and those officers were bunched up with nowhere to go for cover and finally 4) the perpetrator was already a felon and wasn't supposed to have guns and the officers made a fatal assumption that there weren't any firearm threats and allowed themselves to underestimate the perpetrator

It is said to have been a rifle. When the FBI battered down the door they were said to have been fired at by a rifle. 2 dead and 3 wounded. Some 5.56 can penetrate level 3 armor.

Fox said FBI's Teams approach was picked up on BGs home security cam, wouldn't be suprised a child porn freak was sitting at the computer and saw it in real time. 6AM Raid, just after sunrise. BG shot through his front door, probably at the "stacted" Team. Multiple hits on several officers with a "assault weapon".

I read in the news yesterday that the bad guy shot a “assault type weapon” at the fbi and police through the door...standbys for the liberal gun grab demands...

It would ironic if the apparent idiot that planned the raid got shot, but likely such people were not the ones at the door. Yes people are saying the feds should have nabbed guy when he was out side of his abode.

Maybe "THIS" was supposed to set an example of "How to do daylight KNOCK Warrants? Local SWAT vehicle/Team was parked a block away, Responded: picked up the pieces and finally cleared the house. Don't know who's bullet(s) BG died from.
