Anyone know of a good place to hunt hog? I have always hunted on Eglin Air Force base and just do not like it there and would really like to find a good place to do a hog hunt with my 10mm or AR and get some good sausage for the freezer.

found this from last year. The guy is a squirrel but he manages some hunting land around Crestview. I talked to him 3 years ago, went out and looked at 1 area and the rules did not fit my hunting style but some of you may be OK with them. He also might know of other contacts so ask, good luck. He is really hard to contact at times.

Hey in 3 years they all could have changed, new areas gained and different people there, so I do not want to jade peoples opinions. Would rather you talk and see what he tells you now...only costs an email asking if he has any opening or suggestions on who to call. and a number to talk to him.

I am a cranky old man, do not judge what is best for you by my thoughts...LOL

I found a place in century (220 acres) that charges $60 for a hog day hunt. I requested info and am waiting on it...will pass it along if you like.

considering most hogs are nocturnal a day hunt would get you squat on our lease. is this open land, fenced kill pen, trophy fee?? Kill fees? Just things to ask, good luck

I'd be interested in hearing some of the details about the hunt. Guaranteed shots ?? How many can you kill ?? Guided or un-guided ?? Any weight limits ??

I do not hunt Escambia River WMA anymore but would be glad to show you several walk in hunts that I used to do on the Escambia County side, north of Molino. --- SAWMAN

Sorry...didnt mean to confuse anyone with the "day hunt" terminology. They host hunts for other game as well and his ad was titled "day hunts".

I'm waiting on an email of a PDF file with all his info. and will pass it along when it comes in.

And to be honest...I've never hunted hogs before and am in the process of learning all I can beforehand. Any wisdom bestowed would be greatly appreciated. Til then, it's "Hog Hunting for Dummies".

Don't waste your 60$. They're almost strictly nocturnal. Ask for some current trailcam pics.

Not judgeing...however...this surely sounds like it could be a "canned hunt" or a "put and take". For a novice hog hunter this could be a good way to get/catch the hog hunting "bug". After you find out what the "deal" is I will surely try to help you in any way that I can.

In a high fenced operation the hogs will come out any time the feeder(s) goes off. --- SAWMAN
