Anyone ever try hand cutting your own dove tails? I've had pistols that I loved but hated the sights.

Once. I highly suggest practicing on a piece of 3/4" bar stock a few times though.

Epic fail on first attempt. A machinist friend fixed it.
The cost of the jig plus the learning curve wouldn't be worth it to me.
Im the exact opposite. The cost of the jig and the learning curve are by-product of the gratification of a job well done.
