    Item: Chinese T-53 Mosin Nagant

    Location: Crestview, FL

    Contact Info: Call/Text 850-225-7859

    Price: $175.00 OBO

Item Description: This is a Chinese Type 53 Mosin Nagant. All numbers are matching, but the bolt has been renumbered at a plant during refurbishment. I have shot 100 rounds through this rifle after cleaning all the cosmoline from the rifle. Stock is in great shape, action is smooth and trigger is really nice for this type of rifle. I am including a pin-on muzzle brake, sling, soviet oil bottle, and field tools. Thanks for looking.

Strong rifling, with no pitting in the bore.

Okay, what's the deal with the bullet test? I sold a Mosin a while back, and a guy did the same test. I didn't know what he was doing then, and I don't now. I've asked around and all my buddies don't know either. So what am I missing???

If the bore and crown are not shot out, they will be smaller (slightly) than the projectile and the bullet will not sink all the way in. If the bore and crown have been shot out, then the bullet will go all the way in to the brass.

    Still available.

Art, thanks for the education on the bolt number. I learned something new. Description updated to reflect the bolt was renumbered at a plant and not original number.

A pleasure meeting you Dave. It's believed that the recent wave of CAI imported T-53s came from Albania. These have a smoother action and better trigger than Russian M44s. I would consider the bolt to be correct for this rifle as it was in Albania, but likely replaced from it's original Chinese assembly. So it would be matching from Albania or light refurbing along the way (a long time ago). This is my opinion based on research. This rifle is definitely above average for any T-53 and looks very sound. It is a good buy if you want to try one out. Function, bore and trigger are great. They are creeping up in price as the better ones disappear! Good luck with the sale!
